The 1995/96 season was historic for Borussia Dortmund: the yellow club won the Bundesliga that year, the first of two consecutive league titles under the management of Ottmar Hitzfeld, with a squad that included Karl-Heinz Riedle, Andreas Möller, Matthias Sammer, and a young Júlio César. It would be the prelude to the 1997 Champions League final against Juventus in Munich. Nike outfitted BVB during that era with one of the club's most recognizable kits of the nineties—signal yellow with black as the predominant color. Die Continentale, a Dortmund-based insurance company founded in 1874, was the club's main sponsor during those glorious years, a presence on the chest that became forever associated with Dortmund's most successful era of the 20th century.
