The 1990 World Cup in Italy is one of the most remembered and painful episodes in the history of the Spanish national team: the Roja fell in the round of 16 against Yugoslavia on penalties, in a match played in Verona that cut short the aspirations of a generation featuring players like Míchel, Butragueño, Martín Vázquez, Hierro, and Chendo himself—the starting right-back and owner of the #2 jersey at that World Cup. Le Coq Sportif, the legendary French brand founded in 1882, outfitted the Spanish national team during that cycle with one of the most elegant kits of the Roja's pre-Adidas era: the embossed jacquard pattern on the fabric and the combination of cotton and polyester are hallmarks of a vintage construction that is unrepeatable today. A long-sleeved football shirt with a World Cup player number and original label is a top-tier archival piece for Spanish football memorabilia collectors.

Historic Spanish National Team shirt from the 1988–1990 cycle, produced by the French brand Le Coq Sportif and worn during the 1990 World Cup in Italy. Long-sleeved construction in a 50% cotton and 50% polyester blend, with the characteristic geometric jacquard pattern embossed on the fabric and a collar with yellow and red elastic trim. It features the traditional embroidered RFEF crest and the Le Coq Sportif logo on the front, and the #2 on the back, printed in thick vintage plastic transfer with the official typography assigned to Chendo for the tournament. A collector's item with the original textile label of Spanish manufacture and the numeric sizing of the era.
