Italy 2000 Home Shirt

The 2000 Azzurra jersey coincides with one of the most painful and glorious moments in the history of Italian football: the 2000 European Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands, where Italy reached the final against France and was seconds away from winning the tournament with a 1-0 lead, before Sylvain Wiltord equalized in stoppage time and David Trezeguet scored the golden goal in extra time. A generation of extraordinary players—Maldini, Cannavaro, Nesta, Totti, Del Piero, Inzaghi—who deserved the title and left a lasting image of an Italy in intense blue with solid play. Kappa outfitted the Italian national team during that era with several versions of the kit, with the basic polyester version—featuring the logo embroidered on the shoulders instead of the chest—being the most austere and authentic of the range, lacking the technical finishes of the match version. The three stars embroidered on the right sleeve cuff commemorate the three World Cups won up to that point (1934, 1938, and 1982).
