The 2010/11 Real Valladolid season was spent in the Spanish Second Division, in the midst of a battle for promotion to the First Division. The Castilian club, popularly known as "el Pucela," has a history linked to the city of Valladolid and a visual identity built on violet—one of the most unique and recognizable colors in Spanish football. Kappa outfitted the club that season with a kit that included a second uniform in red, an unusual combination for a club associated with violet, which adds collector appeal to any garment from that season.
