FC Volendam is one of those clubs that doesn't need huge budgets to have an identity. A fishing town north of Amsterdam, orange and black colors, and a fanbase that has supported the team through decades of the Eerste Divisie with the same loyalty as in their Eredivisie years. The 2021-2022 season was the reward for that consistency: Volendam secured promotion and returned to the elite of Dutch football after years of absence.
